Crown Paints Apprentice Decorator of the Year 2022
Edinburgh's Telford College was hosting the finals of the Apprentice of the Year competition. This covered a multitude of trades and Crown Paints recruited me to photograph the eight contestants for Apprentice Decorator of the Year. The brief was to take documentary style shots of the contestants in action. Also shots of the finished piece with and without contestant. And finally group shots of the contestants with their certificates as well a an X Factor style shot of the judges.
Space was at a premium and the painting was done in a booth where the mural filled one wall. I used a Canon R6 with wide angled lens to be able to fill the frame and a speedlight on camera for lighting.
