Marks and Spencer food store in East Kilbride was undergoing a major refurbishment and I was asked to be the official photographer on the opening day. Arriving at 7am I had an hour to photograph the various departments of the store before the opening and cutting of the ribbon at 8am. My challenge was that there was a variety of light in the store ranging from neon signs to either well lit or shadowy areas. I overcame this by taking three photos of each section at different exposures and then blending them on Photoshop to average out the lighting. Quickly on to the cutting of the ribbon and the official store opening. I then had to photograph the store with customers shopping and have all the photos edited and uploaded to the Agency by 10.00 am. I made it with a minute to spare!
